Temperature Sensor Information

The pan has three bosses that can be machined for use with aftermarket sensors and gages. It is also possible to use one of the other bosses as the drain plug location. If you would like PATC to machine a boss on this pan for a temperature sensor, the machining charge is $40 and this option must be ordered over the phone. The boss can accommodate 1/8 to 1/2 NPT.

Description and Applications

This heavy duty transmission oil pan fits the GM 6L80, 6L80E transmissions. We designed this pan for 2006 and newer Cadillac, Camaro, Corvette, and Chevrolet and GM trucks and SUVs. There is a fill hole and plug for vehicles with the fill in the pan, such as some Camaros.

This pan features:

Fins and aluminum construction to dissipate heat from transmission fluid

Drain plug for easier maintenance

½ NPT hole and plug for pan-fill

Thick walls to add strength to the transmission housing

Thick gasket flange, machined flat, for a leak-free seal

Fits AOD ,4R70W and AODE transmissions. The 4R70W pan must be used with a 2WD AODE filter. You must specify AOD or AODE as the bolt pattern is different.

Ford AOD, AODE, 4R70 Deep Profile:

Fits AOD, AODE, 4R70W transmissions. It is recommended that you use an 4R70W filter with the AODE transmissions. The 4R70W uses the 4R70W filter. The 4R70W has the same bolt pattern as the AODE. You must specify AOD or AODE / 4R70W to get the correct bolt pattern on the pan.

Fits Dakota trucks, Jeep Wranglers, and Jeep Grand Cherokees (with 42RE or 44RE transmission). If you have a Jeep Liberty and need a pan, please let us know what transmission you have and if there are any clearance restrictions. This pan has 14 bolts. Some Jeeps have the 42RLE transmission which has 13 bolts. Please check your existing pan configuration and clearance before ordering.

#81. C6 Heavy Duty 2WD Steel Pan. Ford vehicles with C6 transmissions often have oil pan leaks. The original Ford C6 oil pans are made with thin-gauge steel. If the oil pan bolts are over-tightened, the flange at the bolt holes will warp and will result in a poor gasket seal. Once the oil pan flange is distorted, it is difficult to repair the pan flange to get a good seal. The new heavy duty C6 oil pan is made of thick gauge material and will resist warping at the bolt holes. The thicker flange will allow the bolts to be tightened enough to compress the gasket evenly and result in a good seal. The new heavy duty pan will withstand repeated assembly without damage. Can be used on a 4WD with a 2WD filter. Cost $29.00
